No date given. @late 19th century. Volume 1 is published by Dana Estes as part of the Illustrated Sterling Edition. Volume 2 is published by The Booklover Press as part of the Illustrated Book Lover's Edition. It is a little confusing because they match up perfectly with volume 1 ending with Book Tenth and volume 2 beginning with Book Eleventh. They are bound and printed identically. Half bound leather with marbled boards and endpapers. Gilt designs and lettering on spine. Top edge of the text block gilt. Complete. "Paul Clifford" is best known for the much parodied beginning of its first line "It was a dark and stormy night". Also includes "Tomlinsoniana". Corners bumped, spine ends and edges lightly worn. Tight and clean. Enjoy these classic Bulwer novels originally printed in 1853 and 1830 respectively! Very good. Item #4114
