New York, New York: The Viking Press, 1957. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Very good hardcover copy of "On the Road" by Jack Kerouac without a dust jacket. 1st edition / 2nd printing. Still has the back flap of the dust jacket with Kerouac's picture and the description of the author. Light wear to the extremities (spine ends and corners). Top edge of text block stained red, which bled at some point onto the back free end paper, indicating that it was wet on that page at some point. No other evidence of the book being wet. Four dates stamped onto the back free end paper from October 1957 as well as two price stamps of 49 cents on each free end paper. The dates could mean that it was in a library, but no other typical library indicators exist. Tight and otherwise clean. Enjoy this early printing of this monumental Beat Generation text!
