Main Street: The Story of Carol Kennicott
New York, New York: Harcourt, Brace and Company, 1921. Hardcover. Very good hardcover of "Main Street: The Story of Carol Kennicott" by Sinclair Lewis without a dust jacket. Nineteenth printing. Dark blue cloth covers with orange lettering and designs. Spine lightly faded. Great picture of Lewis at the time of the writing of this novel pasted onto front free end paper. Newspaper article pasted onto third fly from the Columbus Dispatch September 11, 1921 entitled "The Realism of Main Street", which of course caused some offsetting of verso. Many notes on first fly leaves, title page, dedication page, and some throughout (mostly in the first few chapters). Notes are neatly written and do not affect the print. Very good information included within. A bright, sturdy copy. Enjoy this famous novel by the first American to win the Nobel Prize for Literature! Very Good- / No Jacket. Item #2723
